Creamy Kale Smoothie

Creamy Kale Smoothie

This is one of my favorite recipes for a green smoothie. It's refreshing with a subtle sweetness. It makes a nice breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cup water or milk of choice (or less for a thicker smoothie)
  2. 1 heaping cup shredded kale
  3. 1 medium banana
  4. 1/2 cup peach slices
  5. 1/2 cup mango chunks
  6. 1/2 peeled Clementine (optional for a citrusy kick)
  7. Drizzle honey (optional)
  8. 1/2 tsp. ground flaxseed (optional)

Method

  1. Simply blend all of the ingredients together. Eat immediately or you can place it in an airtight container (like a mason jar) and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
  2. If you don't have a high power blender, be sure to blend just the liquid and the kale to begin with, then add the rest of the ingredients. This will ensure a smooth drink.
  3. I like to use frozen fruit in my smoothies, but if your fruit is fresh simply throw in a small handful of ice cubes.
